Inaugural 100 Billion Meals Challenge Impact on Hunger Crisis
Global Citizen is a global movement of engaged citizens using their collective voice to end extreme poverty and a vital partner in the 100 Billion Meals Challenge. At the heart of this collaboration is a long-standing relationship with co-founder Tony Robbins, whose deep commitment to ending hunger has made him a powerful advocate for global change.
During the 2024 Global Citizen event in New York City, Robbins, alongside Malawi's Minister of Agriculture Sam Kawale, announced a bold commitment of 10 billion additional meals towards the campaign's 100 billion meal goal. This milestone is being driven by partnerships with organizations including Hatch for Hunger, Feed My Starving Children, and the National Pasta Association, aiming to feed 1 million people each year and address persistently high levels of food insecurity around the world.
In a further show of impact-driven leadership, Robbins also pledged onstage 55,000 metric tons of fertilizer in collaboration with Uralchem, a move designed to empower low-income countries to grow their own food and strengthen international food security at its roots.
From leveraging the platform of high-profile events to unlocking large-scale, tangible commitments, the partnership between Global Citizen and the 100 Billion Meals Challenge is proof that when bold voices and global movements unite, hunger can be tackled with both urgency and innovation.
