There is a crisis in the world today.
Global hunger is at its worst in decades.
Every 10 seconds, a child dies of hunger and if hunger was a nation, it would be the third largest nation on earth.
The 100 Billion Meals Challenge was created to solve this crisis. Co-founded by Tony Robbins and Governor David Beasley, former head of the World Food Programme and winner of the Nobel Prize, we have already provided 62 billion meals in three years...more than any organization of its kind. We wanted to break down bureaucracy and get food to where it’s needed most like Gaza and Sudan, when no one else could.
Forty years ago, the world was faced with a similar crisis, babies were dying and no one was finding solutions, or even talking about it… until music changed all that.
In 1985, Live Aid and "We Are the World" showed that music could be so much more than entertainment—it can spark a movement that saves lives. Today, we are facing another critical moment that demands action, and an opportunity to create a new song for a new moment. Produced by the legendary Jimmy Jam and his partner Terry Lewis, we’re working together on something special, something real, and tangible, that feels good, and where we all get to be part of something bigger than ourselves "The Next Verse.”
On December 16th, we’re assembling some of music’s most iconic artists and creatives bringing talent together live, in the studio, just like in the original A&M studios recording.
We’ll record "The Next Verse" at the iHeart Theater in Los Angeles - with a virtual chorus joining us live on Zoom, to record the song and film for the documentary and music video … Thanks to the magic of technology and our partners at Zoom imagine also being able to include people like Elton John live from London, Beyoncé from New York, or Jelly Roll live from the road … and we want YOU to be part of it.
